In the media player below you can watch 3 of the films involving young people who have been part of the 2BU group
The 1st Film is a short film produced for Government Office South West. It was part of a DVD which featured 16 projects, seen as examples of work that helped demonstrate how, in differing ways, the needs of young people could be met under the 'Every Child Matters' reform. It was commented that the reason for success was because projects met needs, not forms or tick boxes. Our film gives the experiences of gay and lesbian young people growing up in Somerset.
The 2nd film is the latest film which features 3 young people and friends, giving them a creative voice. Its title gives a clue as to what to expect. 'All about us' is honest, funny and real. (Strong language is used several times within this film)
The 3rd film was the first film 2BU were involved in. It follows a group of young people as they head to Dartmoor for a weekend to produce a film! There was no real theme, it was all about bringing out their creative side and giving them a voice through film.
In the years 2BU has been running we have been extremely privileged to have worked with Somerset Film and Video for all the films we have on this site. Special thanks to Stephen Clarke, an award winning freelance film maker, who has been involved in all our projects. Tom Stubbs and Joff Winterhart also played a vital part in the very first 2BU film in Dartmoor. Thanks also to Laura Hylton for her ongoing support for our most recent film.
